Literally everywhere, sometimes if i see a texture pack on my dash i like the look of i’ll DL it, or if i want something specific i’ll just google it! fuckyeahresources is great though!
Hmm well it all depends on what you think looks best, i mean it can change with each edit tbh!
I don’t tend to do much fancy typography on my edits, though when i do it just tends to be a case of mixing fancy handwriting/curlier fonts like sunshine in my soul, sweetly broken or jellyka with straighter/bolder fonts like optimusprinceps, perpetua, or tall dark and handsome etc.
I’d say you should go browse dafont.com and DL lots of free fonts and play around with them to see which ones you like best, then keep them in mind when you make an edit and try each one to see if they look good!
Hope that was helpful in some way :)
hmmm, i would say it’s a good idea to do all your editing of the two gifs separately, then ‘flatten frames into layers’ for them both. Then you can copy/paste one gif over the other which will keep the colouring separate and allow you to then edit however you like :)
I’m afraid I don’t know of any tutorials, but there will be some out there, though it’s pretty simple really;
I hope that made sense, any issues drop me another ask!
& ahh thank you! :D x
‘How’ as in techniques or ‘how’ as in checking it’s under the limit?
If the former, i just: use less frames, use dark gradients, reduce the height, still part of the gif (but only so much so it doesn’t look weird) or make it b+w (in which case i can go down to about 20ish colours and still make it hq)
If the latter, when ‘saving for web and devices’ just click this in the corner;

and i set the ‘desired file size’ to ‘999k’ (as sometimes it seems to go over 1mb for me if i put that in instead) and click ‘okay’ and see how many colours you get, then you know how much you need to adjust it, if at all, to get it within the limit and still be hq :)
It’s pretty easy, just delete the white background layer which should be the bottom layer underneath all your frames :)
Yeah i had this problem! but luckily my flaw free tumblr wife Emma found a solution! just have a looksee here and download the older version :D
It tends to vary on, if you screencap gifs, how many frames per second you cap … i take 16 frames a second when i screencap and usually around 0.16 secs in terms of speed :)
The genius that is my tumblr wifey Emma worked this out, have a looksee here :)
I have the older version as i can screencap DVDs on it but couldn’t seem to on the new one, you can get it here :)

[though obviously the size can be what you want]
this is for colour gifs, i like to keep them at 256 colours to keep the best quality, as for black and white or similar gifs i find they can be anything over 20 and look fine :)
As far as i know there’s no quicker way than sharpening each layer individually, though once you use sharpen once you can usually use ctrl+F as a shortcut :)
edit: ahh the lovey effys has given me a link to one where you can sharpen all at once; looksee here (thank you! :D)
aaand look here too :P
editedit (lol): apparently there’s a timeline thing too (though i think that’s CS5? I have CS4 anyways) … check the comments :)
(thanks for the responses guys, this is actually really useful :D)
Ooh okay erm, get your hands on a good editing program, i’d suggest photoshop which you can download, have a look at my future reference tag where i’ve reblogged some posts with DLs (here), though whether they’re still working links i don’t know …
I’d also suggeest getting KMPlayer which you can find and DL through google which will let you screencap video files/DVDs etc. which you then load into photoshop to edit.
Then get downloading psds/textures etc. and just play around with making things, there’s lots of tutorials out there if you need help, Mary makes some awesome tutorials here :)
so yeah, get creative! :D
Well 1080p is obviously the best quality you can get, but yeah they can be pretty huge files that just take up space and take forever to download … I always go for 720p which are a good size and don’t take too long to DL, and the gifs look HQ as well … I don’t know of any smaller size files that’d give you the same quality as 720p so i’d go with that :)
